Doesn't work. It get's stick in entering station (the one where there is that small window and all black, I guess this is the black screen thing. So no Premium for my iMac.
<snip>
OSX 10.4.11... this is your issue.. Apple has updated the drivers only in 10.5 not 10.4, upgrade already. |

Does this mean that Premium will not work on 10.4.11? And if so does this mean that in March when they cut classic I will have to upgrade my OS?
Has anyone tried premium on 10.4.11?
Edit: Spelling ftw
yes it will not work on 10.4 Dr Sheepbringer has tried it on his iMac and it didn't work. Apple has upgraded the graphics drivers in 10.5 but not 104, but hopefully 10.6 (Snow Leopard) will be out by then so you could skip 10.5.

I am using a late 2008 Macbook with 10.5.6, 4 GB of Ram and a 256 GB SSD btw..
Running the eve client on an unsupported macbook with integrated graphics and then *****ing about how poorly it performs = bigger fail
not fail... it is a late 2008 model from the apple webpage "NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics processor with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory3"
this is above the recommended spec, and with 4GB of main memory the shared 256 isn't that much so no memory issue.

3. I download and install the Beta Singularity install file from this post. 4. I start Eve and I'm at the Tranquility Server Login page (NOT the Singularity Server). Eve wants to run some patches, I comply and then it restarts. 5. Same thing... I'm still at the Tranquility Server login page. I log in and I have NO premium graphics option. 6. I thought if I downloaded the Beta it should take me to the Singularity Testing server automatically? Should I have not installed the patches or something? 7. What am I doing wrong? Tanner
OK looks like you are starting the Classic Client.. did you follow these steps?
Originally by: CCP Whisper
To install the client, please download the client from this location. We recommend that you rename your already installed/existing EVE Online application to something like ôEVE Online TQö prior to installation, as the process will create a new EVE Online copy in your applications folder and could potentially overwrite an existing installation of EVE Online. The beta Premium graphics client will automatically connect to the test server Singularity.
did you rename the Classic install? are you using a doc alias pointed to the classic client? if so make sue you are launching the correct client.
Hope this helps. |
